10-09-2013 Short Term Course on Health Awareness concludes
The short Term Course on ‘Health Awareness’ for AMU faculty members, organized by the UGC Academic Staff College, AMU concluded
ALIGARH September 10: The short Term Course on ‘Health Awareness’ for AMU faculty members, organized by the UGC Academic Staff College, Aligarh Muslim University concluded today. Twenty-five participants from various departments had enrolled for the six-day course. Eminent resource persons delivered lectures through interactive sessions on topics like cardiac pulmonary resuscitation, common emergencies, diabetes, smoking hazards, back problems, dental hygiene, cancer prevention, female reproductive health and cardiovascular diseases. Mrs. Rizwana Ahmed Ali, wife of Brig. (Retd.) Syed Ahmed Ali, Pro-Vice Chancellor of AMU, gave away certificates to the participants and congratulated them on completing the course. Prof. Abdur Raheem Kidwai, Director, UGC Academic Staff College, said that the course is yet another step of the College towards contributing to professional development of the teachers in higher education. He also lauded the efforts of Prof. Seema Hakim, Course Coordinator, in smooth processing of the course. Giving a feedback regarding the course, Dr. Arshad Hussain, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, ZH College of Engineering and Technology and Dr. Sarika Sharma, Department of Education said that their level of awareness about health and wellbeing issues has substantially increased. ASC faculty, Dr. S. Reshma Jamal facilitated the certificate distribution and moved the vote of thanks.
